| I am so sick and tired of men with this cave man mentality. Do they not know it is 2009? Source Houston Chronicle : Something disturbing is going on at the Houston Fire Department. Yesterday the Houston Chronicle ran a front-page story detailing how two female Houston firefighters – one black and one white – were racial and gender-discrimination victims. Their lockers at Fire Station 54 were vandalized and slurs were written across a door. Paula Keyes and Jayne Draycott, the only female firefighters at that particular station, took their story public to the front page of the Chronicle yesterday. Adding to their chagrin, a photograph of Draycott’s deceased teen-aged daughter, tragically killed in a car wreck in 2006, that Draycott kept in her fire department locker was mockingly destroyed. The word “die” had been written across Draycott’s face, and “dead” across her late teen-aged daughter’s face in the photo.
